Johanna Jahkola

Regenerative Grazier

Johanna Jahkola runs a cow-calf operation in Southern Finland, with a focus on rich biodiversity and natural pastures. Johanna has applied adaptive multi-paddock grazing for the last 12 years and a herd of purebred Herefords works as a tool to shape aesthetic landscapes. The farm has been organically certified during the past 27 years and for the last decade the focus has been in regenerative farming.

In her work, Johanna is dedicated to animal welfare, low-stress cattle handling and all-encompassing management. She is also participates in research and development projects within the domains of ecology and animal production. During her career she has refined her herdmanship through learning by doing and collecting wisdom and insights from peers all over the world.

She is a speaker at educational events and seminars and especially enjoys working together with other producers and organisations, coaching them in herd management and animal handling as well as encouraging producers to improve their pasture production through regenerative grazing skills.
