Sustainability advisor

Lena Korkea-aho works as Sustainability Advisor for Lykkan, a Finnish company that wants to promote regenerative agricultural practices and enhanced ecosystem services. Lykkan is building a model for farmers to generate carbon and nature credits that companies can purchase as a part of their climate and nature action. Together with a network of pilot farms and other collaboration partners, Lykkan is developing methods for monitoring, reporting and verification. In addition, Lykkan has launched a farmland leasing platform aiming for longer lease contracts and increased regenerative practices on leased land.   

Lena is a soil scientist with 20 years’ experience from international environmental consulting and sustainable finance. She has worked with numerous industrial, commercial and financial actors in the Nordics and Baltics, assessing environmental impacts and developing sustainability strategies. Her vision is an agricultural sector where farmers can make a living based on what they produce and where soil health is in focus.
